Galatians 6

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Thoughts

  • Verse 7 “Do not be deceived”
    • Just because it does not seem like justice is done don’t be fooled.
  • “God cannot be mocked”
    • Ignoring God’s expectations, God’s will is mocking His authority
  • “A man reaps what he sows”
    • How you spend your time counts for you or against you. There are two ways this might come out.
      • An immediate effect – when we don’t seek God’s direction, or when we seek God’s direction and then don’t do His will we immediately damage our relationship with God and damage our own character.
      • A delayed effect – our actions and attitudes have ripple effects with damaging results that are seen over time.
